Fable: The Lost Chapters (2005)

by Big Blue Box, Lionhead Studios, 1C Company, Feral Interactive, Microsoft Game Studios
Genres:Role-playing (RPG), Adventure
Themes:Action, Fantasy, Comedy, Sandbox
Game modes:Single player
Story:
Fable was expanded and rereleased as Fable: The Lost Chapters for Xbox and Windows PC platforms in September 2005. The game was later ported to Mac OS X by Robosoft Technologies and published by Feral Interactive on 31 March 2008. The Lost Chapters features all the content found in the original Fable, as well as additional new content such as new monsters, weapons, alignment based spells, items, armour, towns, buildings, and expressions, as well as the ability to give children objects. The story receives further augmentation in the form of nine new areas and sixteen additional quests. Characters such as Briar Rose and Scythe, who played only minor roles in the original game, are now given more importance and are included in certain main and side quests. Other character-based augmentations include the voice of the antagonist, Jack of Blades, sounding deeper, harsher and more demonic, and the ability to uncover (and resolve) the murder mystery of Lady Grey's sister. The updated edition of the game also applied fixes for certain glitches, such as the "dig glitch," in which the protagonist would move backward each time he used the shovel, pushing him through solid objects and sometimes trapping him.

Honestly quite surprised this classic hasn't made it's way to GOG yet. Looking forward to when it gets released as I played this game only pirated when I was little. I remember the world being so immersive and RPG elements being top notch for my taste at that time. Hopefully we'll be able to experience this masterpiece DRM free once again.P4y4p4y4

I love this game for a storyline, building character, mini games, puzzle solving, voices, soundtrack and marvellous graphic - it was best game for me at time it was available on market.

One of my favorites! Lots and lots of combinations and talks with my friends! We played the spanish version and make a lot of fun with the translation! Recently I picked a box in a flea market!

I love this game and I played this more than 10 times I guess. Excluding Fable Anniversary, which I played at least two. Everything about this game is fantastic - soundtrack, feeling, worldbuilding, narration - can't find the weaks. All-time favourite, all-time memories!
Best played for a moment on New Years Eve and then throughout the following twelve months. Jack of Blades commanding presence and hatred for Whisper are fond memories I cherish. A semi-active mod scene and accessible cheats and modding tools for laymen provide extra fun, though are by no means a requirement to enjoy the game. It's graphics have kept their charm and the story, art, and voice acting are immersive and enjoyable.

Fable is a fun, fantastic, amazing game. The game bring us freedom. The gameplay revolves around completing main story quests as optional side quests, while fighting enemies, upgrading equipment. It would been great to have this game on gog. A must have.

This is the first game I got on the original xbox console. To this day, I still consider it the best in the series. I've lost count of how many times I've played it through, both good and evil. I tried buying it through Steam but it doesn't even work. It would be a shame to see such an important piece of gaming history die.

What do you mean it's not here already?! IT"S ABSOLUTE CLASSIC. IT HAS TO BE PRESERVED! Fantastic game where your choices influence how people treat you AND how you look! A classic story about a boy that goes from zero to hero!
The first console RPG I ever played (when I probably shouldn’t have haha). While it isn’t monumental, it is still a great experience and worthy of preservation.
Easily one of the best RPGs I've ever played. It's funny wholesome, it lets you make choices that matter. It's the ideal medieval fantasy adventure. I would happily buy it here.... but dear GOG, please, if you do decide to preserve it, please choose this version (or at least include it), not the Anniversary edition. The Anniversary edition, among other flaws, has an awful hud and control scheme that were intended for Xbox, not PC.
Those games also need your vote!
Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.
