Tragic doesn't even begin to cover the fact that this game is missing from GOG's preservation archives. Forget the philosophy, deep, heart-warming and heart-wrenching themes over what it means to be human in the face of nihilism and meaning (or meaningless), and you find a game that is - at its core- an homage to all video games that came before. At once, it is hack and slash RPG, third person shooter, platformer, sidescroller, bullet hell twin-stick shooter, old-school arcadey fighting game, text adventure, and more. It is a love letter to near on every single game and genre of game that came before it, and it deserves to be on GOG as much as any other. I've never wrote one of these ever, but this game is just one of those games. This game is what I wish Witcher 4 was in Ciri traveling across gameplay-changing worlds, and what everyone thinks RDR2 is in the role the player has in the story. It is a game that involves you in the story in far more subtle ways than conventional story-rich RPGs or decision-based games, and reminds you of all the games you loved that came before, and that will come after, through its wide variety of different thematic genre-based gameplay. It is a masterpiece that needs to be on GOG immediately, and one which proves that anyone who thinks video games aren't an art form need to be arrested. For all who have played this game and all who have not, Square Enix, GOG, make it happen! These very much are the (an)droids we're looking for!
