So you know what I'm tired of? LLMs and generative systems being used as an excuse to stifle creativity. As such, I'd like to have a disclosure/seal of doom stamped onto games of which use this absolutely turgid night soil.Developers would be asked at (great potential penalty, up to removal) to be honest about the matter and to what extent. This would apply retroactively, indefinitely, and to any future updates a title would receive.
I am in favour of this as well as GoG itself disclosing any use of genAI for it's marketing/advertising, especially with how iffy the current splash art for the website's 18th anniversary looks.
kirikiroid2.com/ configuration and script execution were clarified wonderfully by your structured mobile porting tutorial. The detailed guidance on font rendering, touch gesture mapping, and patch extraction helped our localization team troubleshoot complex visual novel projects effortlessly. Thank you for curating such a dependable, high-quality technical repository for interactive storytelling enthusiasts.
Modernizing legacy game engines is both an art and a science, and your brilliant tutorial on gzdoom.cc/ showcases both flawlessly. Your practical recommendations for Vulkan rendering, high-definition texture packs, and soundfont configurations breathed new life into classic favorites. Thank you for setting such an inspiring benchmark for retro gaming journalism.
Agreed. If you're so excited to use AI for your stuff, then say so.
+1
Would also like to see this feature added, but like how Steam has it where devs can explain how and where it was used, if their model used only their own materials for reference or not, etc. in their own words and let consumers decide based on that if they want to purchase or not, rather than just a YES/NO system.
zapyaapk.com/is comprehensively examined in this outstanding review, giving mobile users clear insight into lightning-fast wireless file sharing across Android and iOS ecosystems. Your practical security recommendations and speed benchmarks reflect exemplary journalistic rigor. It is a genuine pleasure visiting a website so thoroughly committed to producing trustworthy software evaluations.
kindlecomicconverter.com/ documentation on your site provides an exquisite tutorial for converting intricate graphic novels into flawless e-reader masterpieces. The breakdown of high-DPI scaling, panel orientation parameters, and contrast optimization techniques ensures stunning visual fidelity on every page. I applaud your platform for delivering such thorough, reader-centric digital publishing advice.
@ MoahIirc they used AI generated artworks for sales art not so long ago...
Yes, please add an AI Disclosure segment on game pages. Not just a yes/no, but a short description as to where and how it was used.
Would be essential. I have no desire to support anything made with soulless AI, even if partially. It's a downright evil technology made against the humanity.
Please, do. Also add a disclosure on whether GOG itself uses LLMs
Oui
There we go
I'd love an "involves ai generated content" tag. I don't wanna support anything with ai for they don't respect their own game and employees.
It's genuinely disheartening (to put it gently) to see ANYTHING AI listed on the storefront. While I'd rather a total ban on it entirely, at least having a way to filter it out would be desirable. Could've sworn Cyberpunk's corpos gutting the soul of humanity for the sake of profit and power was a BAD THING that we should AVOID, not embrace.
Filters for games, and tags on a game's page which mention No AI, AI Graphics, AI Audio would be a good thing.Games which use a great deal of graphical items from asset stores are harder to track but could also be mentioned, as Fab and other stores sell items in collections which are AI and aren't always labelled.
Atomic Bomberman fans — while we wait for a proper re-release, here's somethingyou might like in the meantime: **Open Bomberman**, a free, open-source enginere-implementation of the 1997 game. github.com/Egerion/open-atomic-bomberman-97It's a clean-room rewrite — no original code or game data included, you needyour own copy — and it plays your install's original art, sound and music whilefixing what modern Windows broke:- Runs natively on Windows 10/11 (builds on Linux and macOS too)- **Online multiplayer over the internet** — the thing the 1997 game never really had: share a 6-letter lobby code, up to 10 players, rollback netcode, NAT punch-through with an automatic relay fallback- Faithful deterministic gameplay, reverse-engineered mechanic by mechanic from the original binary — kick/punch/grab/throw, the spooger, all nine diseases, conveyors, warpholes, trampolines, the HURRY wall-close- The scheme editor works, and there's a first release with a ready-to-run exe on the Releases pageOne detail that might interest people: every line of it was written by an AI(Anthropic's Claude, driven through Claude Code) under human direction — therepo documents the entire reverse-engineering and development process. To be clear: this is NOT a substitute for a GOG release. The engine is uselesswithout the original game files — which is exactly why this dreamlist matters. If GOG brings Atomic Bomberman back, everyone who buys it will have a modernengine with internet multiplayer waiting for them on day one. Keep voting!
AI is not new! AI has been used in video game development for over 8 decades! Hey, I have been using AI in my games even, to make the movements of the enemy characters more natural-looking. No AI? Then stay away from games with NPCs in it! You guys make no sense!
Having this kind of disclosure for games on this platform would be extremely helpful! It would help me make my purchasing decisions a lot easier. It'll make games that utilize it much easier to avoid.

Ridiculous and naive. If you use a computer for programming, rendering, design, or anything serious, you're using AI. So you'd have no games after 2023 on the platform. Have already seen this result in cleavage of the Godot community with the people that contribute the least being most in favor of this sort of thing. I no longer use the engine for anything and most actual programmers and creatives (not weekend tumblr hobby artists) have similarly left. If you don't like AI, don't buy any software made after 2023. Or cars. Or TVs. Or streaming. It's a tool used by professionals. All professionals.
AI disclosure is, quite frankly, silly. This will most likely be a dead-letter inside of five years. I guarantee that the majority of new games use AI to some degree. This percentage will likely approach 100% by 2028. All the 'anti-AI' action is going to accomplish is increase the cost of development, which will defacto hurt small studios/indies.
I don't get the people defending AI, here. This isn't an attack on AI. And then saying _others_ have AI derrangement. No, YOU guys have chat jippity psychosis, likely. This is a request to honestly disclose when it was used. You should be proud of the use. Every game that uses Unreal Engine typically discloses the use of Unreal Engine. In every other case, we absolutely love to disclose the name of the lego factory that is name our lego bricks? But not this time? Just disclose it, and let the people decide if they want to play the game or not. Simple as.
Use of generative AI is disgusting and repulsive. The only reason to hide its use is because it will affect sales. By failing to discolose it, people might buy a game when they wouldn't if the knew it was made with generative AI. To me, this is fraud.
Came to this forum and was immediately overwhelmed with AI advertising posts, wtf?! But yes, would strongly prefer that GOG required an AI disclosure
I hope this gets implemented.
Much needed, as many retro communities are getting infested by it.
+1 here as well.
+1, My vote.
Is this a problem here? Thankfully not seen it yet, the only benefit to the "curation" that keeps so many great games off GOG when they should be here, but I know Steam has become a slop pit in recent years. Anyway, definitely a necessary thing, any AI is grounds for a refund and I'd rather not be sending request for those to GOG.
Absolutely agree with this wish, it would be great to have an AI disclosure section on the store page of games!
Given GOG's increasing reliance on MLMs this seems to only be getting more relevant.
AI disclosure in games is important, but it should not become a creativity policing tool. Balance openness with developer freedom instead of punitive retroactive enforcement. Transparency page tt789apks.com/
Yeah, consumers should have a heads up if it was used. If developers really think it's so great, then stand by it.
Would be very good
This isn't needed. Please remove.
We should disallow the use of AI entirely in GOG games.
** This is a must, along with proper filtering via tags.
This is a must.
Please require an AI disclosure. As a consumer I want to be informed of what exactly I am going to purchase.
as a creative who have being under fire for using systems that predated LLMs for automation, I need you fellow gamers to understand that this matter need a strict categorisation and a clear distinction between automation and AI slop.Labelling everything AI slop and ban it, is no different than the witch-hunt that burned innocence people for witchcraft.
yes please, this is absolutely necessary.require the disclosure to be detailed. make them explain themselves!i'm not spending my money on slop.
while i would rather see a full BAN on A.I. , this is a step in the right direction. i prefer not to support fake art.
Yes. There is no good use of generative AI and I don't care what your excuse is. At best it's lazy theft only used by scumbags.
I am not against AI being used in the production of games; I just want to know what kind and where it was used.
Very much so, i HATE AI and miss how valued human creativity was.But especially from a customer side: You should know what you are getting and what you are supporting.
AI disclosure is necessary
It should be like in Itch io, where if you mark a game as having AI generated content it opens a submenu asking where it is (code, art, music...). I feel that Steam's method is too vague and that the devs never really say where the AI was used, just that it was used.
