For now GOG Downloader does not run under Linux, not even with Wine-like emulation. I would like to see GOG.com officially support a Linux client (maybe through existing community project ?)

GOG is about the freedom of no-DRM and enjoying stuff the way we want to. Therefore, a Linux solution needs to be distro-agnostic. This is why I think Flatpak would be the way to go. I am sure the GOG team can figure something out to balance the sandboxing with multiple install/save locations, Proton/Wine, and so on. I have been on Linux for almost a year now and I really enjoy it. Having GOG natively on it would be the cherry on top of what is already a very robust experience.

A big thanks to GOG for maintaining old Games. I'm looking forward to the Linux-GOG-Downloader.
Instead of building a linux galaxy client could GoG financially support Lutris, Heroic Games Launcher, LGoGDownloader, MiniGalaxy and other projects? It would also be nice if yall could update the community of changes to your APIs and backends for integrating with GoG.
Linux only user here, no dual boot or vm. Steam supports Linux, GOG does not. I always prefered GOG, but feel ignored for years. Byebye GOG.

Ubuntu/Arch, that covers most people.Maybe some flatpak-style app if you wanted everyone to get it. Just need Open-Sourced option of Galaxy for Linux?
Switched completely from Windows to daily driving Linux for the past year. Like many others, I'm not going back to Windows, so I drop any service/game that doesn't support LInux. Please be part of the change and show the community you're listening.
official*
+1 cachy os, please bring this to Linux :)
please use proton and umu
I agree, I use Linux all day.
Create a Flatpak package for GOG Galaxy! With Flatpak packaging, it will be practically universal across Linux distributions!! :D
Yes please add support for Linux it would be great.
Please consider adding Linux support for GOG Galaxy!Alternatively, distributing it via Flatpak would make cross-distribution compatibility much easier to maintain.
As much as I like heroic, it doesn't do everything I want it to do so having a dedicated GoG Galaxy Linux would be nice. I'm never going back to windows.
pls linux is more awsome with gog
+1 Linux please...
SO to be frank GoG Galaxy wouldn't do very well on Linux due to the fact Heroic handles all of this. It would be shadowed by it. Why use multiple downloaders when you can just use one? The features and settings alone sell it to me. lol
Not to mention Heroic also handles Epic, Amazon, and Loot Platform as well. It handles all 4 of them and combines them into a convenient one stop shop. Heroic also offers many features, functions, and settings that help you greatly on Linux making it easy to do things. On Steam you literally only get a launch option line and everything else you need to do is third party. Heroic packs a punch here. I love it and honestly don't need GoG Galaxy for Linux with this.
Just download and install Heroic. It works amazing for GoG. You can sign in, download/update games, cloud save, and achievements. I'm pretty sure GoG has Heroic doing all the Linux stuff.

Yes!! Linux version please!
Please add support for Linux
One day Heroic will be a thing of the past; Might be worth looking at it, if it helps make the official launcher
With Eid just around the corner, it’s impossible not to think about the importance of dressing your best. In the UK, Custom Made Thobes remain among the most beloved and widely worn Islamic garments—especially during Eid, when comfort, elegance, and fit matter more than ever. menthobes.co.uk/custom-made-thobes/
I just started using GoG but to have a native linux version would be great!
This would definitely give an edge to GOG, having a Linux installer. In the process of converting some of the Windows machines to Linux, and this would game changing with official support and would allow many gamers to Switch off Windows although I'm sure the development costs aren't cheap, but it's a good investment in the future IMO.
I’d also like to see an official Linux downloader from GOG. Community tools are helpful, but official support would make downloading and managing games much simpler and give Linux users a more reliable experience.
I'm nearly bold, still believing
I want this very much please. (I use Nobara(fedora) btw)
@Adiffy (I use Gentoo btw) +♾️
+1 (I use Arch btw)
I'm using Gog in unix with Wine.
shampoo-is-a-lie.github.io/CafeNeuroticoWebSite/Guys this one runs, downloads, installs and manages your GOG library, alongside Steam and Epic (and others actually)
