THE RPG. When people say what defines the role playing genre, it used to be this game. Before the ladder of how many great games that came after this, it was Chrono Trigger that was the game to strive for. Perfect craftsmentship of music, story, jrpg gameplay, and above all, lasting impact. Many people have missed out on being able to get their hands on this piece and should get the chance they don't even know they need.
I'll be honest, JRPGs and RPGs aren't my thing. Final Fantasy? Dragon Quest? They never appealed to me, not even the recent ones. It's just not my kind of game. But this one? This one has something special. It's like everything I imagined a dream adventure would be when I was a kid. I discovered it when I was 20. The music, the characters, the story, and the gameplay make me feel like a kid again with every new ending that comes out. And knowing that the illustrations are done in the style of Akira Toriyama is like giving my soul a kiss and a loving hug. I'm speechless. For me, it's the best JRPG of its time.

Chrono Trigger is beyond iconic. It's genre defining. The DS version is considered the definitive but sadly the extra content added to the DS version got stripped from following releases. It deserves to be restored.
Please GOG, make Chrono Trigger happen! It's an RPG that I loved the first time I played and wished it were available on your platform with modern features. Furthermore, Chrono Trigger was the RPG that made me appreciate the concept of time travel even more.

My favorite game of all time. I've beaten the game in every way possible -- unlocked all 9 endings, and collected literally everything that can be collected. This game was SO ahead of it's time! Multiple endings, changing timelines, party attacks that change based on who is in the party -- so. damn. GOOD. A true to original remake would be great, but in the meantime (and just in case they blow it when remaking), we need the original preserved!
I first played this as a rental from Blockbuster Video back in 1995. The first night, I played this for what felt like 20 hours. After 3 days, I had to return it and went out and immediately bought it from a small game store in Flushing, Queens. From there, I played the game through New Game + so many times, I maxed out every stat and had everyone in Rainbow gear. It was one of the first SNES games I became obsessed with. Looking back, I think I was obsessed with the idea of time travel after losing my mother 4 years prior. It must have helped me cope with the grief by trying to reverse or stop impending calamity before it could do lasting damage. Since then, I've bought CT on any and every platform its ever come out on. I still have the Nintendo DS version, but had to sell my SNES copy some years ago. There have been few games since that have made a lasting impact that Chrono Trigger did. Truly one of the greatest video games ever created.
Timeless, no pun intended. I played this on SNES so many times, partially due to to the revolutionary New Game+ system. So many different endings! I remember the first time I got the ending after beating [the last boss] at the earliest opportunity - what an incredible 'meta' ending! A true classic.
My neighbor received a Chrono Trigger cart as a gift during the 1995 summer vacation, just being released. My neighbor had to go to a family 3 days trip, so I asked him to lend me the cart while he was out, so I finished the game in just two days , in a 23 hours of playtime, that was an awesome adventure.
THE GREATEST RPG OF ALL TIME FOR ALWAYS EVERMORE I decided to be a composer because of this game soundtrack. And out there in my country, Brazil, in undergrad and graduate Music colleges, I've came to know about six people who said the same. This is a masterpiece from a literal Dream Team. The stars aligned and we got Yuji Horrii, Hironobu Sakaguchi, Akira Toriyama, Yasunori Mitsuda, Nobuo Uematsu, Masato Kato, Takashi Tokita, Yoshinori Kitase, Akihiko Matsui, Kazuhiko Aoki and many more to deliver a truly perfect game. This is history. This is art. This is one of humanity's greatest achievements. Thus Chrono Trigger needs to be preserved.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Fable: The Lost Chapters
Fable: The Lost ChaptersFable was expanded and rereleased as Fable: The Lost Chapters for Xbox and Windows PC platforms in September 2005. The game was later ported to Mac OS X by Robosoft Technologies and published by Feral Interactive on 31 March 2008. The Lost Chapters features all the content found in the original Fable, as well as additional new content such as new monsters, weapons, alignment based spells, items, armour, towns, buildings, and expressions, as well as the ability to give children objects. The story receives further augmentation in the form of nine new areas and sixteen additional quests. Characters such as Briar Rose and Scythe, who played only minor roles in the original game, are now given more importance and are included in certain main and side quests. Other character-based augmentations include the voice of the antagonist, Jack of Blades, sounding deeper, harsher and more demonic, and the ability to uncover (and resolve) the murder mystery of Lady Grey's sister. The updated edition of the game also applied fixes for certain glitches, such as the "dig glitch," in which the protagonist would move backward each time he used the shovel, pushing him through solid objects and sometimes trapping him.
