Story:
StarCraft is a real-time strategy game set in a distant sector of the Milky Way galaxy in the 26th century. Players command one of three species across separate campaigns: the Terrans, resourceful human colonists cut off from Earth; the Zerg, an insectoid swarm that assimilates other species; and the Protoss, a technologically advanced race with powerful psionic abilities. Each species features distinct units, structures, and strategic options. The game includes a story-driven single-player campaign for each faction and competitive multiplayer via Battle.net.

What are you trying to achieve here? It's free on B-net... They made it free after remaster release and removed it from my owned Classic Games list. My story is about the feeling being ripped off by buying the remaster. Which is the original game with altered graphics. The controls are the same, the pathfinding algorithm is still annoying. Music is the same awesome music.Data.cz

If it wasn't for StarCraft and it's expension Brood War, I wouldn't be a gamer today. This game got me into gaming and opened up a new world for me. It actually helped me think more strategically and taught me to keep trying when I failed. I never played it online with other people but I loved playing against the computer. I have fond memories of zerg rushing bases, or sending an army of Archons backed up by Dragoons to obliterate the computer player.

StarCraft is legendary game. If you play it, I assure that you will get good memory and unforgetable anymore. I already buy 1 and 2. If GOG company take this game come back. It is the best news for player. Don't forget that battle dot net give free!.

Português: Particularmente queria que essa versão em específica fosse lançada na GOG pois este eu o joguei após ter jogado bastante o segundo jogo (na época em que ainda não havia chegado as suas expansões) e de ter gostado da jogatina, apesar de não ter ido muito tempo devido a sua dificuldade que foi para mim quando era adolescente. Seria muito bom rever ele e tentar zera-lo de forma digna (mesmo que eu morra várias e várias vezes rsrs). English: I particularly wanted this specific version to be released on GOG because I played it after having played the second game a lot (at the time when its expansions had not yet arrived) and having enjoyed the gameplay, despite not having spent much time with it due to its difficulty, which was for me when I was a teenager. It would be great to see it again and try to finish it in a dignified way (even if I die over and over again, lol).

One of my favorite things about the Original StarCraft was engine-side modding, my first modded game actually, "Gundam Century" was a wonderful Gundam RTS. But thanks to Activision's "rEmAsTeR" all engine-side modifications are disabled - making that mod and many others (DoomDragoon anyone?) borderline lost media.

Still the best RTS to date. Very simple, but very efficient. I cannot remember how many time I've spent on Battle Net and replaying the campaigns again and again just because it was great atmospheric SF. It's so weird that this game isn't already in my GOG library...

SC1 & 2 must be on GOG! I would pay for the original here, even knowing it's free on battlenet. The most legendary RTS franchise needs to be properly preserved!

Good old StarCraft. This was one of my first childhood games I've ever played. It's THE best RTS (alongside WarCraft 3) in the industry. Shame it's (NOT) being handled by nu-Blizzard, so having it away from them would be public service for the RTS gamers worldwide (especially in South Korea).

Starcraft & Red alert 2 was my favorite RTS game. Plenty of replayability with network games. They are not frustrating but still provides enought challenge to be fun. Plenty of memories with friends, some of which I have not seen since and a few already gone to the grave. The nights, the laughters and cheers... If I could at least still play the game, and relive the memories.

The story covering this game and it's expansion shaped my imagination as a child. This and pokemon, so you can imagine a ten year old pretending to catch zerg in a pokeball.

However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires.
