The English version of the Czech mod Fallout 1.5: Resurrection is out. A total conversion mod it gives you a whole new campaign with numerous new characters and multiple ways to complete missions. Or so they say I'm downloading it now. Check out their site here:

A mod to Fallout 2?
Interesting.
I'll definitely check this.

Grats to the developer for not giving up. Total conversion mods are not easy to make.
And grats to whoever translated the mod, 'cause I don't understand anything in Czech language :p

It's released already? Nice. Gonna download it after work later
I will test it for sure, thank you.
Finally a new real Fallout.
Does it really work with restoration project? The FAQ seems a bit strange, I mean that a total conversion would not change Fallout 2 in any way? What does it do then?

" Can I at the same time have Restoration Project installed?

Yes. Resurrection doesn't change Fallout 2 in any way, whether it's a clean installation or one with Restoration Project installed."

Probably you can just pick if you want to play standard F2 or this mod every time you launch it.

Looks great, I hope it's as good as people say.

My first guess would be that it creates a new directory, and copies what it needs from the FO2 directory, such as the exe and the assets it needs.
Thanks for sharing, it looks interesting. :)
If you're still wondering if this mod is your cup of tea, maybe the following videos will help:

Thanks for letting us know about this.
Wow! Thank you so much for the topic.
I would have missed this one.
"Content-wise, it rivals or possibly surpasses the original Fallout."

Wow, that's some serious statement. Thanks for sharing!
I played it a couple of years ago and I wasn't all that impressed
