zeogold: How appropriate, you fight like a cow.
ChaunceyK: Quick detour because of this comment. Funny little anecdote, I assure you.
When I was a teenager, I played the very first Monkey Island with a friend, and we got such a laugh out of so much of it's humor. Your response is the obvious retort to "You move like a dairy farmer."
Fast forward to when the movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was released. Some friends and I (including my Monkey Island friend) went and saw it in the theatre. When the Painted Man (portrayed by Morgan Freeman) said to Robin (portrayed by Kevin Costner) "You whine like a mule," I had no choice but to comment "How appropriate, you fight like a cow."
My friend and I laughed like lunatics, while none of our other friends had any clue why my comment was so funny.
Heh, seems you guys were gamer nerds before being gamer nerds was even a thing.
Y'know, I've always wondered what that must be like, to have been in youth and see these (now old) games come out and thinking "Wow, this is the greatest thing I've ever seen! This is probably the pinnacle of technology/writing/etc.!" and now seeing what games are like today and how far they've come.
Kinda amuses me to think that the same thing'll happen to me one day.
