Capturing history without getting captured

UPDATE: No revolution is complete without the proper music. Get out your loudspeaker and get ready to join the 1979 uprising listening to the Black Friday soundtrack, containing 21 tracks both contained in and inspired from the game.

1979 Revolution: Black Friday, a choice-driven political thriller set during the famous Iranian Revolution, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows and Mac.

It is during those pivotal times of conflict, unrest, and extreme tendencies that one must be very careful when making any meaningful choices. Because these choices carry the potential of rippling through history and echoing for generations to come. Reza Shirazi, an Iranian photojournalist who has just returned home after studying abroad, finds Tehran caught up in one such event, the 1979 Revolution: Black Friday. His best friend is an influential member of the movement against the Shah and Reza will soon get tangled up in the turmoil and far-reaching implications of this revolution.

Renza will meet a colourful cast of controversial characters, take and process photographs of the events, and face hard decisions, which will dictate the fate of his friends and family, as well as how he experiences the revolution. Numerous collectibles and faithfully reconstructed scenes will give you an authentic, cinematic presentation of these troubled times, based on eyewitness testimonies and historical facts. An acclaimed voice-cast brings these tragic events to life, but ultimately, it is your own choices that dictate how this bloody street revolution will play out and who it touches the most.

Take historical pictures and be an integral part of the big picture behind the 1979 Revolution: Black Friday, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Death to America!
Death to Israel!
Isn't a bit early for a release? Or more coming later today?
Like...more Star Trek games perhaps? Perhaps Final Unity? Please?
Pretty please with a Romulan ale on top?

I'm just going with the theme bro.
Needs more Iron Sheik.
I will definitely buy this at some point, it looks unique and interesting. I want to see more of the gameplay though.
Now I am waiting for 2001 Revolution: 9/11 Attacks :P
Also I hate when best part of an image is covered by text.

Game looks decent point-and-click.
So, can someone from Iran please tell me how much accurately this game captures the incident?
How can a choice driven game be historically correct??

Nice hat. I really liked your previous avatar.
Looks somewhat interesting. I wonder what would happen if I chose (out of curiosity) to side with the Shah. Also, btw, is it just my impression or the girl in the trailer looks like a teen Marjane Satrapi? (maybe all Iranian women looke like that though...)

I'd wager the approach here is that the choices can affect the fate of the protagonist and his family at most, and not of the entire land, so choice is still there, but won't affect the historical outcome (e.g. someone siding with the Shah will end up either dead or exiled in the USA or something...)

I thought it was disappointing that the GLA in C&C Generals didn't have suicide planes as a unit.
That's quite unexpected :)

Naturally, the problem with the game topic is that we have no way to know how accurate it is and how biased it can be.....

Anyway, put on my wishlist, it's a nice change ^o^

But only virtually. In reality hats don't suit me very well ;)
Well will probably get back to my previous one at some point.

You're right. She looks a bit like her. I wonder if that's a coincidence....

Hmm a subject matter that hasn't been done to death and looks interesting- I'll wait to see some more feedback before considering jumping in. Good to see the game on GOG in any event.
