Weekly Staff Picks: Little/Big Heroes

Up to 80% off adventures taken by unlikely heroes like Dust: An Elysian Tail, Little Big Adventure, Banner Saga, Armikrog, and more!

Some tales are epic because the stakes are high and an entire kingdom, planet, or even galaxy hangs in the balance. But others are epic just because your hero is facing overwhelming odds, fighting for what they hold dear in their own little corners of the world. Games celebrate Little/Big Heroes all the time, but now we're putting some of the most unlikely ones under the spotlight and under a -80% discount that will help break the ice!

Meet Dust: An Elysian Tail. He's lost his memory but not his impressive fighting skills. Can he correct the wrongs of the past and help restore some peace to this beautiful land, full of action/platforming challenges? His chatty Nimbat companion sure thinks so!

Is it the dreamlike story? The surreal atmosphere? The puzzles that tickle your most imaginative bone? There's just something truly magical about Little Big Adventure that makes the journey feel both epic and entirely personal. And that music! Oh man.

You need to be tougher, smarter, and more forward-thinking than the desert mutants, marauders, and cyborgs, because Skyshine's BEDLAM only offers salvation to those who can master the turn-based battle tactics and gruesome decision-making required to survive.

No matter their quest or its outcome, our Little/Big Heroes promise to take you through the most exciting adventures: Banner Saga, Armikrog, Little Big Adventure, and more!
The promo will last until August 26, 9:59 AM UTC.

Wow, BEDLAM is quite cheap, and I don't have it yet. However the reviews seem to point to a lot of problems with the game. It sounds a lot like Convoy, which I wanted to like but which just didn't hold me in the same way as FTL.

PaterAlf: Wasn't there a similar promo (including Banner Saga 2, Armikrog, Toren and Bedlam) just a few weeks ago?
Yep, they were part of the Aug 5, 2016 Weekend Promo.

Wonder which ones of this Week's Staff Picks will end up in the next Weekend Promo, as seems to be the trend lately.

I bought the game, the art style is beautiful I'll give the game that, but the gameplay itself is very dull. I really tried to like the game, because I love squad based strategy games, but the game didn't give me any reason to do so.

I liked the recource management and the random events every turn, but the battles feel boring, you throw units away while the a.i. does the same (one or two shots are enough to kill a unit ) until noone has any units left.

mobutu: Many Armikrog reviews are complaining about the game being buggy and unpolished.
Is this fixed now?

Thanks for the info, very useful! I've got enough compelling games in my backlog that I don't really need to add a middling one to the pile.

Is it still bugged ? if so, i guess some games will never be debugged 100%.
One good buggy example is 60 Seconds! on steam... i bought it long time ago, still buggy, it should run on XP but it didn't, it should run beautifully on win7, also doesnt run, so i dumped the game of my HD and left the game 'for dead' its a waste of time to strat asking and telling them about the bugs cuase they always balme it on us, the users.

As for the promo: bought the soundtracks of Banner Saga and Skyshin'es Bedlam.

Well, even on steam before the greenlit program there was a lot of repating bundles, packs and what not.
If you hang around long enogh on a digital game store you will eventually see some of the same deals showing up several
times.

These seem to be the only patches the game ever got here. But I can't tell you if it fixes all serious bugs or not.
