I never played any of the Diablo games, and I think they don't appeal to me.

I never found Warcraft interesting.

I don't like Thief at all, save for a few aspects of it.

Dark Forces annoys me.

I prefer Broken Sword 4 over 3.

I liked Mafia 3.

Didn't enjoy Red Dead Redemption at all.

Found Blade Runner to be just OK (on both playthroughs).

Absolutely hated Doom 2.

Found Arkham Asylum very boring.

Played 10 hours of Metal Gear Solid V and gave up.

I fell absolutely in love with Disco Elysium's promotional artwork but haven't bought it/played it yet.

I use Galaxy (for backup installers, time tracking, cloud saving and forum access).

Didn't start playing Sierra adventure games till 2 years ago.

Save for New Vegas, I never played any of the Fallout games.

Found Bioshock to be just OK. Never bothered with the rest.

I'd be fine with playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 for the rest of my life, if I suddenly lost the rest of my collection.

Your turn! Confess!
I only really play a few genres, which seems to baffle a lot of people when I mention it.

I have a lot of nostalgia for older 2D games but I rarely enjoy playing them anymore.

I think the FPS genre got truly great when Half-Life came out and earlier games like Doom and Quake are worse off for having zero story and maze level design.

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and many like them are boring af and hard to enjoy. Fallout and Arcanum are a thousand times better.

The big popular genre right now... third-person open world whacky-whacky checklist sims... is terrible and depressing.
Sorry, but what the hell is wrong with you? Disliking Thief and Dark forces, not having played Fallout 1...just leaves me speechless.
Personally I don't feel I have any gaming sins to confess, since I've got pretty good taste. Ok, maybe I enjoyed Starfleet Academy (not a very good game in retrospect) more than justified, when I was a teenager.
I did play Diablo 2 and 3 on Battlenet, because an old classmate talked me into it, but their gameplay didn't appeal to me at all. And World of Warcraft always seemed like a supremely dumb game for addicts to me, glad I never tried it.
I find hollow knight & ori terribly dull and boring. Also Breath of the wild really undeserving of universal praise.

I never played any fallout / baldur's gate game despite having about all of them sitting in library.

I.... have a steam, origin, uplay and epic account.

I like games others panned to good degree...like Daikatana and DNF.
(I do acknowledge they have flaws, though)

I find saving to be useful & do it as much as needed, and also dislike the term "save scumming" somewhat.

I have no qualms turning down difficulty, as I would rather enjoy a game than (figuratively) beat my head against a wall trying 20+ times to beat one section.

I have a steam account with a few games, and enjoy some of the features of the client....though not the DRM and other aspects, like many steam games being locked to it.

low rated
I say i'm good at certain games but i never manage to finish those same games and blame it on bad development and sinister expectancies

I secretly check out all adult rated content on steam but never buy any of those games

I sincerely belief gaming subscriptions will mean a greater means for governments to control the innocent

I buy stuff i that just sits in my library and call that supporting the branch while its just an outing of a hidden depression

I think that mass effect andromeda is the best mass effect ever

I have nier automata rated as an favorite

oh oh oh and i find DRM to be a good thing

I have many.

I notified love terrible games. Some of my favorites are Demonicon and Bardbarian

But I also love popular games like Battlefield and FarCry

But that's okay. What I love about games today is that there's enough variety that there's something for everyone. And one person's boring is another person's best experience.

Funny thing, it was DRM that turned me towards piracy around a decade or more ago. I had more trouble playing games I paid for due to faulty DRM than just pirating them (this was before hard copies disappeared from stores).

I played all 3 of them, never finished any of them. They all are boring to me, you're ok in my book.
avatar
TheDudeLebowski: I never found Warcraft interesting.
Warcraft 2 was nice, but Warcraft 3 was SO different that I also did not like it. Can't say it's a sin really since you're ok in my book still.

TheDudeLebowski: I don't like Thief at all, save for a few aspects of it.
That does it! How dare you! ;)
What aspects though?

TheDudeLebowski: Dark Forces annoys me.
I shall report you at once because my feelings (which are SO important to the world) were offended deeply ;)
I liked Dark Forces 1 game a lot, can't say the same for the rest of the series but Dark Forces 2 was ok for me.

TheDudeLebowski: I prefer Broken Sword 4 over 3.
Broken Sword 3 is a piece of sh@t, no wonder you prefer BS4 over it's inferior prequel. What you even consider it a sin???
avatar
TheDudeLebowski: I liked Mafia 3.
Me too! Great game, especially driving and superb soundtrack. I really like Mafia 1 and 3, and Mafia 2 is so empty a game for me I can't stand it. Completed every game with every DLC.

TheDudeLebowski: Didn't enjoy Red Dead Redemption at all.
Me too. But I'm still trying to get in touch with RDR2.

You are redeemed in my book ;)

TheDudeLebowski: Absolutely hated Doom 2.
On second thought you are hopeless, you should burn in hell ;)

TheDudeLebowski: Found Arkham Asylum very boring.
Indeed it is.

TheDudeLebowski: Played 10 hours of Metal Gear Solid V and gave up.
I played MGS4 for 20 hours and gave up but never MGS5, I have no idea how good or bad it is.

TheDudeLebowski: I fell absolutely in love with Disco Elysium's promotional artwork but haven't bought it/played it yet.
No idea, but reviews are very good.

Not even Leisure Suit Larry 1?

TheDudeLebowski: Save for New Vegas, I never played any of the Fallout games.
That's totally fine.

TheDudeLebowski: Found Bioshock to be just OK. Never bothered with the rest.
I've tried to finish Bioshock like 8 times and every time I gave up after a few levels. It's extremely boring for me.
avatar
TheDudeLebowski: I'd be fine with playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 for the rest of my life, if I suddenly lost the rest of my collection.
I'm playing HoMM 3 right now even though I first start playing it on the day of release (+1 week maybe due to localization).

TheDudeLebowski: Your turn! Confess!
I hate Tetris games. I secretly love *hidden object* games, but I never buy them and play occasionally on someone else's PC for free. I have at least 300 games which I'll probably never ever run in my life, I'm buying all games I have on Steam if they appear here on GOG. There were 2 games which I downloaded illegally and even tried to run under Galaxy, I bought them since then but my digital rights soul will never be pure again. I want to replay and complete Sin game and hope for it's sequels only for the sake of seeing the antagonist as much as possible.
I'm a game addict, games ruined my life, I've lost some really good people because of it and my social skills are mostly based on books, movies and games and not on real life experience.
Some of mine:

* The following games are terrible and should never be recommended to me: Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Ultima 7, Final Fantasy 7. I've tried these games, and found they just weren't that good. (Meanwhile, Final Fantasy 5 is my favorite Final Fantasy game.)
* I enjoy Final Fantasy 2.
* I've found that idle clickers, like Cookie Clicker and CivClicker, are actually kind of fun.
* I play RPGs for the gameplay, not the story. (This, for whatever reason, seems to be an unpopular view point.)

I'm assuming you're referring to older games, right? Modern games usually need to be played at a higher difficulty (except DOOM (2016), I guess?)

Everything without the supernatural. Except the first mission the zombies get introduced. That was OK-ish. Just found myself not caring about the stealth part when I had to deal with the supernatural.

Does playing at my neighbor's house with all the neighborhood's kids around count? I never completed it till many years later (and starting with the re-remake. I know, another sin! Also played Police Quest 1 as a kid, but never completed.

Total War Rome II and Total War games in general drove me in recent years almost back into the arms of piracy. It is pretty irritating to know that better working versions of games you enjoy are out there but i persevered. As a good christian i choose the path of suffering staying away from works that are brought in a illegal sense, even refusing the work of modders to pursue this vain idea of ultimate gaming enjoyment.

I even went as far as purchasing all games i remember enjoying when i was younger and still walking the path of the misguided.... Me thinking that was a neccesity might as wel belong to my sin list too, another one then this one though
Does buying a bunch of games but never actually installing them count as a sin? If that's the case I've sinned over 400 times then!

Cadaver747: Not even Leisure Suit Larry 1?
Personally, the only game in the series that looks interesting to me is Leisure Suit Larry 4.

That reminds me of another thing: Wizardry 4 may be my favorite classic Wizardry game (including 1-5, but not 6 or later). (Then again, Wizardry 4 is more playable than LSL4.)
I have never ever played (and probably never will) any single game from the following bestselling franchises: Fallout, King's Quest, Legend of Zelda, Warcraft, Starcraft, Grand Theft Auto, The Witcher, Pokémon, Call of Duty, FIFA, Final Fantasy, Sonic the Hedgehog, Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, etc.

I hate first person perspective in games. I like to see my character(s).

Also hate when the camera follows your character from behind (third-person perspective?) The only ones I like, in spite of the use of this perspective, are KOTOR and American McGee's Alice, I avoid these kind of games even if their other attributes interest me.
