A heartfelt journey down memory lane.

At first I was disappointed with the lack of a FOV slider, no particle effects, anti aliasing, combat, exploration, puzzle solving or any interaction at all really. But when Misa and Riya locked gazes, and then hands with equal fervor, I realized this game may have changed my life.

Needs more time in the oven

It's fun, yes. It's meant to be straightforward and arcady. I get that. But there is almost zero explanation of how things work. A simple codex would have sufficed, Just written explanations. Worse yet, the HUD is not fully functional and very poorly designed. Wait for a sale and hopefully patches. This ain't worth $9

Broken

Don't buy this. It only tells GOG they can sell broken games on their site. Yes, there is a fix generously provided by a member in the forums. But that's not the point. The point is GOG is supposed to have these games up and running when it launches on your OS.

This is how you do a reboot.

FWH have ticked all the boxes: good humor, lots of gore, old school level design, secrets to find, visceral gameplay - it's all here. My only gripe is that the game could be optimized better and some low res textures here and there. I look forward to anything else from these developers.

A solid shooter in the spirit of Raiden

This is a side scroller but the similarities to Raiden are abundant - frenetic pace, lots of secrets, scoring high is addictive. But it goes a step further than the arcade classic with the ability to earn credits and buy upgrades. There's just more depth here and the difficulty is well balanced. That we get it for free is the icing on the cake.
