Journey to the Center of the Earth

Worst example of game design and cut

Oh boy. Firstly, several puzzles have been cut from this version, not sure why, they probably were too buggy and the puzzles aren't well designed anyway, still odd. Now to the many horrible game design flaws: - Sometimes hot-spots for navigation get indicated by the feet cursor, sometimes and they are not. - Since there are an infinite number of invisible walls everywhere and you cannot even move freely over roads or grass, you have to click every pixel in order to get ahead and to every screen you need in order to solve it. - If there are hotspots for navigation, sometimes they work and sometimes they just don't until you stand on a very specific pixel for no reason and getting there is a hassle even if you know which one. - There's mostly no feedback when something has an indicator but doesn't do anything, it's a ton of trial and error and guess work, far worse than even in the Monkey Island moon logic. - The German translation is basically game-breaking, since words with multiple meanings usually get the wrong one. For example: There's a file you have to use to grind down some things, it get's translated into "Datei", which is the translation for a computer file. There's also a wick you have to use to start some dynamite, it's translated with "Sicherung", which is German for "electrical fuse". - There's a ton of backtracking (which is terrible with all the navigation problems) and usually no logical indication on where you have to go since sometimes important items just spawn somewhere at random or are inactive background first and important clickable items later, this happens all the time. - There's a "bad" ending you can't get back to if you leave the room even once, so in order to see it you have to know whan to save and do it or use Youtube. This game is unplayable without a walkthrough and due to the horrible navigation issues even then not easy. I wish, I'd have used my time differently.
