Scrapland Remastered

I remember playing it for hours...

... without being able to progress the story or anything. Perhaps I remember wrongly but felt a bit repetitive and uninteresting.

Outlaws + Handful of Missions: Remaster

Great game, if never played it before.

Outlaws is a really great game. Great shooting sequences. Great music. Great story. Great villains. Overall the gameplay is quite simple but it capture very well the spaghetti western feel. Some shooting sequences are really engaging and the cutscenes... OMG. It feels like watching a movie. However, strangely enough, my memories are more with the part of the game that were overly frustrating and boring, rather than the opposite. Some levels were really long and un-interesting and, while I think the game is great, I do not want to go trough these parts again. The remaster is not sufficiently exciting to trying it out again. But ehi, if you never tried it out, this is worth it!

Tornado

Played until my floppies failed!

It is all in the title. This sim, at the time, was just something else. No other flight simulator could deliver such a comprehensive simulation of a plane and combat zone. Sure, by today standards, it lacks a clickable cockpit. However you had interacting MFDs in specific settings, like laser bombing and air-to-air target locking. Every single aspect of the simulator is massively curated. The flight model is satisfying, even if simplified, and provide a very good feeling of flying a heavy bomber. Wing configuration is a must to master. The payload is massive and the various delivery mechanisms make for very exciting runs. Easy to use but hard to master. Delivery in loft mode is just challenging. This is just scratch the surface of the dynamics campaigns and different conflict theaters. The campaign is affected by your success. While still managing resources. The only aspect that, even at time, was not really impressive, was graphics. However, they aged beautifully and I found them more charming today than when the game was new. This is really a fantastic game that strike a sublime balance between game play and realism. A must-have.

Fallout - New California

Excelent story. Technically broken.

The mod is great. The story. The voiceover. Overall presentation. The world is realistic and vivid. Really amazing. I wish the original game was as good. However, the number of bugs. Crashes and corrupted saves are too frequent to ignore. Now, for example, I can't load my savegames anymore. I have to trace back to hours prior saves and, even if I progress and make a new save, I can't reload saves past a certain point. Making the mod unplayable for me.

Space Hulk: Ascension

No difference from original version

I own the original Space Hulk: Ascension on Steam and I cannot tell any obvious difference from that title. The game is kind of interesting with terminator progress, RPG style. Various equipment and chapters. Overall, is more of a puzzle game with RNG elements. Very difficult. I would say borderline frustrating. Also slow. Very slow. It is too dark to see the map and this is a tactical problem. Map layout is something that terminators should know an was the base of the original game. You can plan ahead and not wonder like a drunk sailor, while genestealers swarm your men, that jam their storm bolters. Blips are also not very well represented as in the original space hulk. The graphics are nice, even though not exceptional. No cut scenes and story is crudely told trough mission briefings. Overall is dripping in the right atmosphere. Is by no means a bad game but is lacking. In the end, could be less than fun. I found the original Space Hulk (1993) the superior game. Only for Space Hulk fan.

The Dawning Clocks of Time® Remake

I don't know

It is really clunky. Combat is carbon copy of first Resident Evil. Tank controls. English translation is, at best, AI. Voice acting is ... just flat. Music... flat. Many graphical glitches. Story could be potentially interesting. But execution is really problematic. I understand the low budget but I feel it is too rough in this state.

DOOM Eternal: Deluxe Edition

Really boring and unfun

I have the complete version of this game on Steam. I really found it absolutely a waste of time. It does not remind me of doom in any way. The combat is too fast and repetitive. The pole vaulting and platformer additions are unwelcome. The circular area approach to every single area is not interesting and feel just aimed at multiplayer. The death animations are repetitive and do not add anything. I totally dislike that enemies drop health and munitions. The story is just not enjoyable. Some of the views are breathtaking, even if apocalyptic. We are clearly doomed, if modern "culture" managed to degrade even Doom.
