Baby Blues Nightmares - Toddler Horror Game

A frightful evening for only $10-ish!

I was searching for something on GOG to play for Halloween night and I saw this was on sale. Grabbed it up, booted it, and was reasonably satisfied with a modestly spooky game. Like another review suggested it takes a lot of inspiration from Alien Isolation, especially in the form of it's main big bad that you have to periodically hide from, or distract in a few ways (although it's implementation in this game is, very respectfully, nowhere even close to sophisticated as the xenomorph). But that's only half the horror, the other half comes from suprisingly effective (at least for me) jumps scares, that also get, admittedly, a bit predictable at times. It's also worth noting this game is a reimagining of the original web horror game of the same name that saw some popularity with horrortubers in the early 2010s. It's even made by the original developer. The game uses many of the same visual techniques of the original game to drive up the atmosphere, but I don't wanna talk about it too much lest I spoil anything. I have my gripes but they're all ultimately fleeting as the game doesn't really have time to get stale, according to howlongtobeat.com it only takes about 1 hour to beat. It took a little over 2 hours for me. So look at it this way: if it's October and you want to get in the mood you could get a ticket for a horror movie, or you can spend that money here, get a smilar amount of enjoyment and support an indie dev.
