Spectrum_Legacy: No idea if anything changed in the past 6months, but Heroic launcher tracked gog achievements just fine on Linux using the built-in Comet plugin the last time I've used it.
So that's what it is for. It doesn't have a description and I don't enable stuff that doesn't bother saying what it does, and since it's tagged "experimental", I didn't bother look into it. So I enabled it now. If it works, then I may reconsider. Since I'm not much of an achievement hunter, I won't be a threat to anyone else joining, but if it works, I might reconsider "for sports", after assessing how much that would require me to compromise my privacy settings, that is. :)
Linux versions not being tracked are no concern in my case since I only use the Windows builds, for security reasons funnliy: these are encased within their own prefix and inside Flatpak (alongside Heroic), whereas native versions would run as normal user process without additional restrictions. Though we
do have a Flatpak generator for native Linux versions thanks to sml.x (
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gogpack_convert_gog_linux_installers_to_flatpaks) which would do the trick.
solseb: Gremini™ is suggesting, "Dawnsinger's information is outdated—Linux players using the Heroic Games Launcher can track and sync GOG achievements directly to their GOG profiles without ever touching Windows or installing the official GOG Galaxy client." But being outdated is normal these days, i often live in the past too, especially in digital history ^
Thank you for letting yourself have it! : D
Alright, it seems like I only need to add solseb as friend for the duration of the event, or maybe the entire bunch of contenders for maximum transparency, and allow friends to see the activity feed. Just please don't be miffed if I remove everyone from the FL once this is over, I don't use the friends thing. So, considering to reconsider. So if this experimental Comet plugin actually works, I'll reconsider. :)
