Greetings to everyone.
There is another upcoming indie game which is also very similar to Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

Whatever It Takes

Whatever It Takes is a hardcore first-person Action RPG in a dark fantasy setting. As a fallen god, master elemental magic, absorb enemy powers, and engage in tactical duels. Use a harpoon for traversal and shape the Omnisphere’s fate through your choices. Reclaim your throne. Whatever it takes. This game has a demo available on Steam.

"If Kingdom Come Devliverance and DOOM 2016 had a child it would be called Fatekeeper!"

Don't know if this is how they're marketing this, but it certainly gives me this vibe.
Looks interesting.
So, for those who do not know, Fatekeeper came out in early access yesterday (02/06). It is only £6.80 here (I think the base price is around $10?), so I thought it was cheap enough to give it a try. It is not quite the Dark Messiah spiritual successor that many people were hoping for (that may well be Alkahest - https://alkahestgame.com/ - coming later this year), but it is a very solid and well-made first-person melee RPG.

The game is a bit slower paced so far. You are a massive barbarian warrior tank stomping around and smashing things. It is brutal, meaty, and chunky in all the right ways. The graphics are every bit as good as they look in the screenshots. It is a gorgeous game, and so far I have not encountered any issues, it runs smoothly and performs well. And yes - it has the foot, and yes - you can kick orcs off ledges.

That said, it is very much still in early access. Most of the story is missing at the moment. Right now, it feels almost like an extended tech demo that shows environments and the core combat mechanics, so there is still plenty of work left to be done. However, what is there is genuinely fun, and it is already quite impressive.

And your spirit animal is a talking rat, you just can not go wrong with a talking rat.
