Looks aren't everything, especially since the PC version already has plenty of ways to play the original. The remaster could still introduce Deus Ex to a new generation, make it more accessible on modern consoles, preserve it for current hardware, and potentially reignite interest in the series. I'd rather see them improve it than abandon it altogether. But everyone is entitled to their opinion, and different players will naturally value different things.

Okay then why do you need a remaster? Considering how the game plays most of the new generation would be turned off. Out of all the games released using the old engine thief gold and metal age still play well today. GoG and the community already preserve Deus ex and other games.

The series will never come back with the current state of development costs im-sims don't turn a profit. Deus ex is still alive without a remaster which by the way many didn't like how it looked. Given the lack of updates I don't think they'll do it anymore.
