It seems, there have been some changes made to the site's main page.
These are new as of today, right?

- The "Discover games" section has been moved to the top.
- Did "Devolver" always had its own section, or is this something new?
- And the "Additional content for your games" section also seems to be new (on the main page)?

Or is this all "old news", and I just didn't notice until today?

It's all such an ugly, cluttered mess I pretty much never scroll down that page any more, so I honestly have no idea if any of this is new.

It's honestly not even funny how much better the classic layout is.
Layout is different, most notably top-sellers list used to be at the bottom, right above news.

I don't think any new sections were added, "discover" and "additional content" certainly aren't new.
Looks good to me.

It makes sense to mix up the front page once in a while to avoid things going stale.
Not a fan of the endless scrolling to be honest. :P
The classic layout Breja mentioned and linked to is so much better.

It seemed to me the scrolling took me longer than usually, that's what I noticed first.

And then I noticed the changed order of the sections.

I know that "Discover games" was there before - but on the bottom of the page (right above the "news", I think?

And I know that I've seen the Additional content for your games" section before...I'm just not sure, whether that was on the site's main page.

The page features now 12 sections.
I could not swear it, but I think there are one or two new (again: added to the site's main page - not in general).

My take on it is that the gog.com homepage is a blank canvas for GOG to advertise however they want. Artistic license and all that.

If you want a more consistent view may I suggest changing your bookmark to: https://www.gog.com/en/games
I think that most/all of that was already on the home page, they just moved things around to make the homepage less useful. The only things that really need to be there:
- the rotating banners
- deal of the day section
- now on sale section
- new releases section
- news section

Everything else could be removed from the home page, and it would be an improvement.

Top sellers don't need to be promoted over sales and new releases. They're top sellers for a reason. If someone doesn't own Baldur's Gate 3, Phantom Liberty, or anything else on GOG's top sellers list, it's unlikely that the reason is because they didn't know those games were available for purchase here.

Oh man, that is really neat that they have that bonus available. It's really cool to see.
They just shuffled it a bit and make a slightly bigger mess (might have been a glitch) than it was already. They could at very least put news at the top.

Hello!

And I am really surprised the blastfromthepast page is still being updated!
I thought it would be only a short-lived marketing gimmick when it did appear.

Maybe, I should peak in there more frequently...

Thanks Breja for reminding about it!

Kind regards,

I stopped bothering with the normal main page years ago, and made BlastFromthePast my landing page. https://www.gog.com/blastfromthepast

I don't think anything has been added or removed, just that one relocation. I check the main page at least once a day, sometimes twice.

Depending on what GOG are pushing, you sometimes have to wait longer for the main page to finish loading and scroll more.

I've always thought that the main page should be separated into at least two different pages, if not three or four. I hate the waiting and the memory usage. It all starts to add up when opening many other game and or sales pages ... each with their own bloat.

After the main page finally finishes loading, I do a quick check then try to get by closing it. It can certainly make browsing GOG a painfully slow process much of the time. I got to the point ages ago, where I just mostly rely on my own Wishlist checking program now, and rarely check sales pages. GOG haven't done themselves any favors having things the way they are ... bloat galore.
Still changing.
"Devolver" section is gone, now.
The "Good Old Games" section has been doubled, instead.

Surely that duplication is an overlooked mistake.
