Does gamesieve track the expiration date of current discounts? If so, is there a way to filter/sort by discount expiration?

GOG itself should honestly have such a filter / sorting option.
Does gamesieve track the availability of gifting per countries ?

For example i'm not allowed to gift Outward Definitive Edition from Hungary .

Sadly no. I am not aware of any API which exposes that information in a manner where I could make use of it in an efficient manner.

Been a long time since I last looked, though. I can have another look once game pages are live and I've implemented a way to deal with all the new currencies. I already had a TODO item to investigate gathering and displaying the promoId on the game page, and discount expiration should be tied 1:1 with that.

Wait, what?! I thought the whole idea of prices increasing to the US-equivalent was that you could always gift!

Are there more games which have this issue? I'm currently not aware of any information on any API which exposes such restrictions, but if I have a few examples, I can search more usefully to see if it exists.

Huh, I have this in the Netherlands as well.

( type: "PRODUCTS_CANNOT_BE_GIFTED", content: "Your order contains Outward Definitive Edition, which cannot be purchased as a gift in your region at this time. To proceed with your order, please remove Outward Definitive Edition.", level: "ERROR" } as an object in the gift->giftMessages array which comes back as a response to a GET to
api.gog.com/v1/checkout/[id]?locale=en-US&countryCode=NL&currencyCode=EUR&cartToken=[token].

Sadly that's not a usable way to gather this information for GameSieve. I've asked my API contact if there's a public API which exposes this information.

The UI-flow seems it's not really handling that case well yet, since I can continue to payment with the gift checkbox still checked, but no recipient data entered.

That's new... And messed up. What the hell?

gogtrial34987: GOG has been adding additional currencies (Mexican peso, Indonesian rupiah, ...) - I want to support them all on GameSieve, but I'm going to have to take a different approach to how I gather prices, as what I'm currently doing won't scale any further.

That means I need to develop something new, and that will take time.
I figured I could at least do a delayed collection of prices for these new countries without exposing them to the front-end yet, so that I'd have a month or two of price history already stored away when going live with the eventual full solution, but of course things can never be simple. NZ prices have AUD as a secondary currency (where so far I was only set up for USD and EUR as secondary currencies), Indonesian prices are two orders of magnitude higher than Hungarian prices (which were already high enough to get me to increase the reserved storage space, but now I had to bring that forward), and decoupling my collection flow from the flow for updating the front-end was not quite trivial either, as I'd never envisioned wanting to, and so had various automations and integrations in place which needed to be carefully teased apart... >.<

I think I'm almost there, but testing is atrociously slow, as GOG is taking 4 seconds to return 100 prices for these new countries, leading to 8+ minutes to collect the prices for a single country, times 8 new countries...

Hopefully that'll go faster on prod now that I've warmed GOG's cache. => Heh, nope! 10 minutes per country... >.<

It's not just Hungary. I get the same error message...
Screenshot (in German), which translates to:

"Your order contains Outward Definitive Edition, which currently cannot be bought as a gift in your region. Please remove Outward Definitive Edition to finalize your order."

I don't think there's any API call that can identify items blocked from gifting depending on region. :-(

May it be that Outward simply can't be gifted, at least while it's at this 95% discount?
Still messed up, but that'd be different than regional gifting locks.
Blues should really explain this.
I'm having the same issue with Outward. Can't gift it.

I think it might have something to do with this line in the store page: "If you own the original Outward base game and The Three Brothers DLC on GOG.COM, you can redeem a free digital copy of Outward Definitive Edition."

That's what I was thinking while reading the comments above, maybe they're doing this just to prevent people from stockpiling keys at this price.

gogtrial34987: ... but if you currently can't use this functionality due to browsing without JavaScript, but would want to use it, let me know so I can bump up that priority.

Palestine: gogtrial34987, if you would, at some point in time, eventually (whenever it is most convenient for you) consider directing your efforts towards this end, I would be quite appreciative.
Setting wishlist priority e.a. without JavaScript will indeed be possible when I release the game pages. I literally had to do nothing for the non-JS flow to work correctly. (Which is far less than I have to do for the JS flow, which is assuming all kinds of no-longer-valid things about the structure around the form; I'm seriously pondering skipping a JS-flow altogether here, since it'd add very little...)

gogtrial, do you know if the inherent discount for new-style automated bundles is currently exposed anywhere (aside from scraping the store page)? Last time I looked, I couldn't find it anywhere else.

While I'm here, thanks for your site, great job! Like GOGDB, I use it occasionally in a supplemental way - in GameSieve's case to check for (improved) all-time high discounts or regional price differences. My own highly specialized script takes care of the bulk of considerations for my shopping though.

As for feedback, the only small thing I can think of that'd help me a bit as a guest user would be to somehow show both the regional and the US price, so it is possible to see the actual price difference at a glance, as opposed to just filtering. Not sure how to actually show the numbers in a nice way though. Unless it's already possible and I just missed it.

Me neither, sadly. But when you know that a product is an automated_bundle, and which products are contained within it, then you can calculate it from the difference between the price of the bundle and the sum of the prices of the contents.

It's too much to cram into the search results page, but the price matrix on the upcoming game page should do very well for this. No promises for when that'll release, but I really hope it's a matter of weeks now.

Too bad - but you're right of course, calculating it is possible with the given data, thanks. Then I'll do it that way, similar to how I include dynamic discounts in my price calculation.

Ooh, ooh, such fantastic news! :D Sincerely, no matter how long it takes, once you are feeling adequately assured, and that the moment is 'right' to 'unleash the hounds', it will be a joy to test out your fine enhancements.

...and a potential bonus (for all parties), as well! : ) Here, easy-to-maintain simplicity may prove its value.
