Ganni1987: It appears that GOG didn't learn anything from recent new releases. Yet another recent release without the possibility of obtaining the pre order items.

What a massive disappointment this store has become. How can you make games live forever when you keep repeating the same mistakes over and over? The entire DRM-Free philosophy gets thrown under a bus with this.

GOG has become its' own enemy because I'm not buying games even when they are "DRM-Free".

PaterAlf: How exactly is that GOG's fault? If Remedy doesn't want the pre-order content to be sold after release, there is hardly anything they can do. Except for not releasing the game at all, which would be stupid in my eyes.
If Remedy doesn't want to sell it here, then GOG should come out clean and let people take it to Remedy. I'd rather have them not release the game at all, than an incomplete one. But of course GOG is a business, doesn't care about their customers and long as money rolls in they'll keep doing it.

As long as the sheeple keep buying the games no matter what, this behaviour will keep persisting.

Exactly my thought. Developer makes games, They publish them. Suddenly the store is to blame when there is something missing? I don't see the logic and neither why its against DRM-Free philosophy (which should be as simple as the game being DRM free and nothing else)
Huh. I didn't even know they made a second one. It's weird to get to a point where I'm not the least bit excited about a new Remedy game, I absolutely love Max Payne (my favorite game ever) and Alan Wake, but Control was just terrible. One of the most boring games I think I ever played.

Recent sheeple here: just becaue people dont care about the things you do or live for them 24/7, doesnt make them "sheeple", as i can easily share a list of things for which you too are sheeple. Never enough for non-sheeple gamers :p, making a crusade out of everything and with extreme positions on the hobby.

Am fine with GOG bringing a game without pre-order items. The game is DRM-free, not having the pre-order items will not diminish my enjoyment of the game. If the pre-ordered affecteds my enjoyment or the game dynamics I wouldnt buy the game DRM free or not. So yeah, definitely a behaviour that will persist, such is life we dont get everything we want or think it should be.

Every release either extreme behaviours of over-the-top of gratitude or complaining about "causes".

TLDR: am glad the game is available on GOG, another one i can get here once it reaches the value i think its worth (like always). This year IMO has been a great year in terms of major releases and sales events. Thus far quite happy with 2026 GOG-wise.

edit: only replied to this thread in such manner, as you also made a similar comment in the 18th birthday thread.
No need to spam/moan multiple threads just because you are unhappy with something GOG doesnt even CONTROL (see what i did there...:p)

One of the things that is ruining gaming for everyone is the sanctimonious positions vokalists take and belittle those that disagree with the "sheeple" moniker et al. Enough please, as people can have differente views that are not aligned with yours (gamers and stores). If you are not happy then move on.

pre-order items are usually stupid things that I would never pay for.
To be honest I care about the base game + expansions if there is any... anything else is not worth it unless it's already included in the price or it can be added as a free mod.
Gog used to have the philosophy of only selling the complete package with all the extras, and I miss that because it also included manuals, desktop wallpapers, soundtracks, etc. But now the versions are often divided into basic and deluxe versions... and if I have to pay for the extras, screw the extras.
And since the complete package is no longer available, I'm not even interested in pre-order items.
I always pay only once: payment->download->game->backup game and save. If a game releases something else afterward, I'm no longer interested
Usually I don't even care about expansions if they are released after I already paid/played the game.
A game is a good not a service, I pay once I get the good I paid for, I enjoy the game, it end and I can enjoy it again in the future for free because it's mine and I already paid for it.
Man I loved the first game. One of my all time favorites. Was so hoping this one would come here and definitely will be picking this up. Here's hoping it at least mostly lives up to the first game and doesn't disappoint too much.

As to all the complaints about pre-order bonuses: I understand it would be nice to have everything related to the game included here. I understand being disappointed and requesting that they add such things. But not buying the game because a few cosmetics are missing? Are you wanting to play the game, or play dress-up?

Not even just pre-order items -- cosmetic bullshit. The quintessential obvious-pre-order-FOMO bait.

I didnt checked what the pre-order content was..that makes it even more funnier but also a bit more sad case too, but wont elaborate as not to derail the thread and re-inforce: glad that game is available at GOG!

This year alone GOG "stole" about 10igames that i had on my radar that thought I would be getting on Steam as didnt think they would be reaching GOG shores = carry on GOG :) = this makes me pause/wait before pulling the trigger at Steam now = am buying much less there.

It's about the lovely feeling they get from owning the mostest completest version of something they like/were excited about, and without which feeling life would not be worth living. Completionists are fragile souls.

Go ahead and block me if you want, I could care less, I don't even know you.

I would have been happy too with the new release, if GOG had actually done their homework, and since this is not the first time such a thing happens, I'm even more disappointed.

They did do their homework: games without pre-order items still sell well.
Pre-order items dont matter to most people, as shockingly enough we can live wo them.
As the description implies for the extra non-relevant stuff for most, you had to pre-order it, you didnt it, you miss it.

FOMO is a user problem that should NOT be generalized and made a problem for all gamers.

We get it you are unhappy, disappointed....but enough already.
Its your problem, not GOG, other gamers or even a pub/dev problem.
Dont ruin others happiness (here, the 18th birthday) by constantly moaning just because you have FOMO and cant handle that reality/gaming is not about that.

edit: for one, am glad that GOG doesnt pay much attention to FOMO, as this would (and is) exploiting users that apparently have no self-control an buy everything for sake of completionism - and then blame everyone else when they can't get their way instead of solving their own problem.

I'll go even a little further and say that some of us are mature enough to not give a crap about sales bait.

But not only I would sound like a a-hole, I would also not being fair. Just because I can´t give two craps about sales bait, even if is given for free, doesn't mean other people don't.

The (sad?) reality is that GOG has no leverage power to make demands, specially on high profile games. I do think that is somewhat unfair some games being sold here at the same price they are sold elsewhere and not delivering the same experience, but if that's the price of no DRM I'm personally more than fine with it. Happy even that we get the chance to buy them.

The thing is that most of us have a grip or two about some stuff no one cares about, and that's fine. Case in point, ask any people around you what DRM even means...
